Yesterday I posted Fujifilm’s tutorials from their glossary series. Today I am posting their Create Forever Series that is meant to inspire photographers. Fujifilm has been focused on outreach in recent weeks to photographers from all walks of life.
Fujifilm released a series of tutorials on their YouTube channel called the Glossary Series. It is full of short video and photography tutorials. So far Fujifilm has released 8 photography videos and 2 videography videos. I expect this series will continue for some time, but it’s good to see they are trying to help new photographers become more proficient with their cameras and these videos can be used by anyone.
Fujifilm savings are back and they are rolling out across our three preferred sites. Amazon has quite a few online and B&H Photo should put their savings online at 12:01. If you click the above image you will get all of the stuff on sale at B&H Photo, but below is a list that ill update with accurate individual savings since I didn’t have them all in advance.
Many love X-Pan and the prices have gone way up in recent years, but I only recently got into the format with the GFX100 since it provides plenty of extra megapixels to use. X-Pan is primarily seen as a Hasselblad format, but Fujifilm also released an X-Pan camera the TX-1. Amazon and B&H Photo carry used XPAN cameras if you’re looking for one. Above is a lengthy review of the TX-1 and below are excerpts from the review.
Not long ago Sigma said they wanted to develop for Fujifilm, but their resources were limited at that time. Now it sounds like they might have freed some resources to start developing lenses for Fujifilm according to one photographer. It’s probably the result of so many asking Sigma to release lenses for X-Mount since Fujifilm has the most professional APS-C system at this time.
The Fujinon XF16-80mm F4 R OIS WR looks to be an excellent all-around lens for photographers and will likely become the future kit lens paired with Fujifilm’s higher-end cameras as the XF18-55 ages and lacks weather resistance. If you shoot in inclement weather or desire a weatherproof compact kit this is currently Fujifilm’s best option.
Instax is a very popular gift for the holidays and it’s how many young people get their start in photography today outside of an iPhone. Fujifilm has long partnered with Disney and others to release cameras and film with themes that kids enjoy to get kids interested in Instax photography. This season they pushing Frozen 2 and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
