Nikon announced a cool new wide-angle lens for its Z-series mirrorless cameras at CES yesterday. The Nikon Z 14-30mm f/4 S lens is the widest full frame lens that features a flat front element, which means you can easily attach screw-in filters.

It matches nicely with the Z6/Z7 in both size and weight. The lens retracts to a compact size of only 3.5″ when you aren’t shooting. The barrel must extend for operation (an error message appears on the camera LCD if you try to shoot in retracted position).

Likewise, the lens is surprisingly light at just a smidge over a pound. It balances nicely in hand when attached to the Z6.
